Alexander Zakharchenko: AFU plan large-scale provocations to fail Donbass special status vote

On Thursday, October 5, the Head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko, during a meeting with journalists, commented on the prospects for extending the special status of Donbass by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The Head of the Republic believes that to ensure the failure of the vote, Kiev could go for military provocations and serious aggravation on the demarcation line.

"The Ukrainian Interior Ministry's GUR (Chief Intelligence Directorate) is planning to provoke major military clashes on the contact line. Thus, the Kiev regime wants to get a political justification for Rada's failure to vote for extending the Donbass special status. They will bombard our territory, and then accuse us of aggravating the situation, as has happened more than once. The OSCE, as always, will remain silent, and the deputies will have an excuse not to extend the status of the special status," Alexander Zakharchenko said.
