DPR Head comments in Rostov on ‘Macron formula’ and possible dialogue with Kiev

On Friday, June 30, answering journalists’ questions, the Head of the Donetsk People's Republic Alexander Zakharchenko called the so-called ‘Macron formula’ not only pointless, but even harmful.

" Everything that is necessary has been enshrined in the Minsk agreements. The Package of Measures provisions all the terms for the conflict’s termination. I believe it inappropriate and even harmful to invent something new," Alexander Zakharchenko said.

The DPR Head also answered the question about the possibility of holding a direct dialogue between the Republic’s leadership and current Ukrainian authorities.

"There is no one in Kiev we could hold negotiations with. Amid the current situation in the Ukrainian political arena, I do not see people there who would be able to keep up the dialogue properly. However, this situation may change soon, then the possibility of a dialogue will appear. But, at the moment, there is no one to talk to. There is a political struggle, there are several clans, groups trying to get the power toll all of their own way. Judging by the results of this struggle, depending on who comes to power, it will be clear whether the dialogue is possible or not," Alexander Zakharchenko said.
